When I am having a little bit of a crap and downer of a morning I know there is only one thing that can pull me through the rest of the day......

and that is.....to get clicking on the camera.

And even better still, shoot only film.

I can't say I use film very often when shooting sport. The attention levels have to be just a little greater than usual. There isn't any 10 frames per second or automatic focusing on this old camera of my dads.

Its just the one chance you get to get it right.

It might be easy to tell why I now have the nickname given to me by my friends as 'phonehand'.

A small joke being that I should just get an operation so it is permanently attached to my palm.

I am considering it. :)

But hey, if it wasn't for phonehand here these pics wouldn't exist.

I hope you enjoy my slight obsession with using my phone as my camera.

Well i'm stoked!

It isn't very often that you jump into a last minute photoshoot and have the final product looking the way you originally dreamed them to. BOOM!

We all know that things don't always go to plan on photoshoots but hey in this case we just rolled with it and with several dinner breaks we got there.

With the help and patience of Lou and Minh as model and stylist together we pulled this last minute shoot off. YAY! That doesn't happen very often :)

Firstly just be aware that there are alot of images below in this post. I couldn't help myself. :)

Amy and Cam held their wedding at Laurelville in York, WA with the help and co-ordination from Rebecca Williams.

This was a beautiful location! The manor which is surrounded with colourful gorgeous gardens was built in the late 1800's. The guest accomodation, the ceremony and the reception were all on the same property. Which meant for me I could just run around like crazy from room to room, outside and inside.

After the ceremony we took a stroll around the streets of York which is an extremely photogenic historic town.

I don't know where to start in descibing how stellar it was to not just shoot this wedding but to witness an incredible amount of love between two people and the support they have from their family and friends.

So instead of me typing and describing just how vibrant and fun your wedding really was, I will (fingers crossed) let my pics speak for me.

I find that I photograph completely different when I am shooting with film. I find I romanticise more with the scene and try and emulate how I am feeling. I guess in these pics a feeling of nostalgia is present. The photos start from the first morning I woke up at mum's house to walk down stairs to see my sister Amie who I haven't seen for quite sometime. I then go stay at my other sister Lee's house with her husband and little Fredmyster. This camera is alot smaller than my regular DSLR. I do try and convince myself and others to think it is invisible. Doesn't really work all the time. My family are definitely posers and know when there is a camera around.... so its always fun to try and catch them out. When i finish the film that I have in my camera at the moment I will add them to here to help complete this little journey of mine.

The joys of babysitting

I took a couple of weeks off and flew over to the East Coast to have some needed downtime with the family and as well as spending quality time (never long enough) with friends.
I mainly shot my little adventure on film, which while I type is getting processed. Can't wait to see those!
The little munchkin in most of the photos is Frederick (I actually don't know how to spell your name Freddie....ooops) Anyway 'Freddie' my nephew turned one that week. His party was way better than any cool hip party in Perth. Only problem was there was too many little snot faces running around on sugar hits. Luckily my sisters' did a good job at directing me to the kitchen sink where I could to take my frustration out on the dishes instead of the innocent sugar addicts.

Chantal took me on an beautiful bush walk in the Royal National Park which lays on the southern outskirts of Sydney. It was exactly what I was craving which refreshed my head for the journey home back to reality of slogging away at work and Uni.
p.s. don't ever expect you can study when babysitting. (big mistake thinking I could)

Hi Friends! So this is the brochure to my prints that are up at Harvest in North Fremantle at the moment.
After some awesome exposure for 3 months they are finally coming down in 2 weeks. They haven't all sold so if you are interested please email me and i can let you know which ones are still available and what sizes they are too and also my friendly discount :) They are all printed onto metal and ready to hang.
